How do you prepare for your trip to Russia?

Russia's attractiveness, hospitality and favourable climate need no introduction. This country is one of the favourite destinations for many people. Whether for tourism or business, Russia remains a country of choice. For a memorable stay, it's important to take certain steps. Find out how to prepare for your stay in the land of the Tsars.

Obtaining an electronic visa for Russia

To obtain an e-visa for Russia, you have two options. You can use the services of a recognised private intermediary or go through the authorities' website.

Trusting an agency to obtain your e-Visa

The e-Visa allows you to enter Russia for tourism, business, humanitarian aid or to visit relatives. It is valid for 16 days, and takes an average of 4 days to obtain.

To apply for your visa online through an agency, you need to meet a number of criteria.

  • A valid passport
  • Do not have a current visa
  • Not being in Russia

You do not need to be in Russia when you apply for your e-visa.

If you are going to Russia as a tourist, you will be issued with an electronic visa valid for 60 days before your departure. This gives you the right to stay on Russian soil for 16 days. With an intermediary, you will have to add a service charge to the consular fee of 49 €. For a business trip, you will receive a single-entry visa with the same validity as the tourist visa.

By using the services of an agency, you can apply for visas for different members of your family. You also benefit from a fast service, carried out entirely via the Internet, as well as official documents from the authorities.

Go to the authorities' website to obtain your visa

You can also use the Russian authorities website to obtain your visa.

You can then fill in the visa application form online via the Russian government website. Finally, all you have to do is go to the Russian visa centre to complete the procedure. Your visa will be ready in around 10 days.
